Harbor Deepening and Green Infrastructure – The Marriage You May Not Know About

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The region’s economy and supply chains from the mid-Atlantic, New England, and the Midwest depend on the Port of New York and New Jersey. To maintain the industry, dredging is required for ongoing maintenance and to accommodate newer, larger ships. Dredge material can have beneficial reuse for green infrastructure, nature-based climate resilience projects, and wetlands restoration. This panel explores how both harbor deepening and green infrastructure in the region face challenges in coming together through complementary and progressive policy, and the ways to turn sound policy for multiple benefits into reality.

* Engineering PDHs are pending for this session
